A fire on the second floor of the fieldhouse, building "D" in May 1973 that burned through the corridor and roof but left the classrooms virtually untouched was attributed to arson. In this photo, the intense heat and smoke damaged walls and ceilings, peeling paint and covering everything in black soot.
