Library Participates in SSHRC Study

Mark Bryant, Reference & Information Literacy Librarian, is participating in a Canadian research study which will explore the experiences of library staff as instructors. The title of this study is “The Teaching Role: Experiences of Canada’s Academic and Public Library Staff’. The research is being done by Heidi Julien from the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta. The study is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

Humber Library staff at the North campus provided 210 classes between September 2005 and August 2006. That translates into 6,409 students hearing about the importance of research skills and library resources in becoming life-long learners.
