Library Book Pickup Service

The Library Book Pickup Service allows current students, faculty, and staff to borrow books from the print library collection. It is a Humber Libraries and University of Guelph-Humber Library service that supports studying and teaching needs.

Request Book Pickup

  1. Search for the print book you want in Discover or search for print textbooks in the Library Catalogue
    • Any general collection book or textbook not already signed out is available to request for pickup
    • In order to ensure fair and equitable access to the limited number of textbooks in our collection, users are currently limited to borrowing two textbooks at any one time
  2. Complete the Book Pickup Request Form
    • You will receive an email confirming your library book request has been received within 3 business days
    • You may need to add to your safe sender list
  3. Library staff will gather the requested book and sign it out to you
  4. You will receive a notification email, if possible within 10 days of your request, when your book is ready for pick up
  5. Come to the Library to pick up the requested book
    • Your requested book will be available for pick up for two weeks, after which it will be returned to the shelves
    • The same book can be requested again

Note: if you can’t find what you need at Humber Libraries or a book is already signed out, complete the Interlibrary Loan Form

Health and Safety Guidelines

  • Following safety measures and Province of Ontario/Public Health guidelines, Humber Libraries and University of Guelph-Humber Library Services established the library book pickup and online delivery service to support access to print collection for current students, faculty and staff
  • The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Please follow all guidelines established for any planned on-campus activities. A Return to Campus microsite provides key resources and information about what to expect when coming to campus
  • Based upon research conducted for the REALM (the RE-Opening Archives, Libraries, and Museums) Project, we are adopting a quarantine period of at least 96 hours for all returned books before they are processed and available for the next hold/request
