Interrupted message: William G. Davis, Minister of Education at the time, on March 3, 1970 told students in an audience of 500 at ceremonies for the opening of Phase II of the North Campus that they need never to be apologetic for being enrolled in a community college, since it represented a valid educational experience. Davis was about to appeal to the business community to not assess personnel requirements exclusively on the basis of university degrees, when a band of Humber antiestablishment radicals stormed the platform to protest "Big Business Is Killing Us!". Notice the Humber logo on the wall behind Bill Davis and the curtain over the art mural behind the platform party.
