Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to examine personality types and their role in the public relations profession. Success in public relations has been researched and personality types have been studied extensively, however, there are no studies currently that look at the correlation between personality types and the public relations or communications industry. This paper explores whether there is one personality type – introversion, extroversion or a hybrid – that is more inclined to succeed in public relations. The study also examines the current PR industry and how PR professionals view the personality types in the workplace.
