Abstract:
The following thesis examines public relations and public perceptions of women’s basketball at the secondary, post-secondary and professional levels in North America. Primary and secondary research was used to explore and to answer the primary research question: Can public relations impact public perceptions of women’s basketball at the secondary, post-secondary and professional levels? The primary research, conducted using an online survey comprised of 37 closed and open-ended questions, garnered 125 participants. The results from the survey concluded that public relations can impact public perceptions of women’s basketball. This study further expands research in the field of public relations and women’s basketball and provides key findings regarding the connection between public relations and public perceptions of women’s basketball.
