Abstract:
It is crucial for interior designers to consider incorporating more stimulating environments in a restaurant setting. This can potentially help encourage individuals to cook and eat socially to support the reduction of loneliness and aim to increase human wellbeing. The aim is to create an interior environment that can clearly exhibit what individuals want and/or need and translate that into the design of the social cooking area, really cueing in on Human-centered Design. Interior design drives the design direction of bringing people together as the formation of the interior architecture and the surrounding environment will guide the users to participate in something that is more stimulating than just eating in a restaurant setting. Research validates this information as it emphasizes the importance of daily social interaction.
