Accountant's Role in Shaping a Greener Tomorrow

This research examines the role of accountants in creating a more sustainable organization, striving for a sustainable future. This research focuses on the adequacy of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2 in supporting the accountant's role for a greener tomorrow. Through a dual methodology of interviews with sustainability professionals and a survey of accountants in various fields and accounting students, the study researches the effectiveness and individual perspectives of IFRS S1 and S2 while understanding the knowledge of sustainability in various groups. These methods are supported by exploratory research and a thorough review of academic literature - providing both practical insights and foundations supporting this research's findings. This research reveals that accountants are in a position to foster a greener world.
