Abstract:
The purpose of this design research study is to investigate the advantages of integrating art and technology in a library with an Activity-Based Theory and Learning-Centered Paradigm. This will help students become more motivated and collaborative, which will support their evolving educational needs. Designing an art library will not only help motivate students but it will also feature newer ways of collaborating which is necessary for how students in today's society learn. The research will also show the influence art has on people and especially students. Through using academic research on past, present, and future trends in library design along with participant interviews and surveys will provide insight into what is needed inorder to create a functional library that meets the needs of university students in today's generation.
