A Study on Artificial Intelligence in Auditing and Its Impact on the Audit Profession

As the world is becoming more technologically advanced, it is no surprise that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has disrupted virtually every business process across many industries. Recently, AI as a disruptive technology has also started transforming the audit profession. This research paper explores the various functions of artificial intelligence in auditing, along with its current and future impact on the audit profession. The report focuses on understanding how artificial intelligence has impacted the profession, how it has changed over time, the current implementations of AI, its risks, and what the profession will look like moving forward. The research process includes the creation of surveys and interviews with professionals in the auditing and AI field to help formulate our findings and conclusions.
